Make it Monday: Teacher Binder

This past week I completed the major components of my teacher binder.  There are still a few things I need to add, but I cannot do so until I learn more about my classroom for the upcoming year.  I have been drooling over all the cute teacher binder sets on Pinterest, but I have a dilemma. My colored printer is out of ink and my HP Laserjet is out of toner.  I even ordered new toner, but I’m getting an error message. So until I start my teaching job, and get a consistent paycheck, printing is on hold.  With all of that being said, I know I can go to UPS, Kinkos, or Office Depot/Max, I just didn’t feel it was necessary when I can be creative and create my own alternative!  What was my solution to the ‘no printer’ situation?! My Silhouette Cameo came to the rescue! Keep reading to find out how I made my binder for Make it Monday!  

I created some super cute binder dividers for my teacher's binder. Email me if you would like this .sil file!  Listed below is what is included in each divided section.  Most of these files I will share with you in the coming weeks. 

Dividers: 

1. Calendar

I have placed my birthday overview, yearly overview, district calendar, monthly school calendar & weekly planning sheets. I will also include a Monthly Reflection sheet to help me reflect on the previous month and highlight my strengths & weaknesses. 

2. Lessons

I will place my lessons (bi-weekly) in this section. 

3. Stations & Centers

I will have my weekly/monthly stations/centers listed. I am also compiling a resource list of stations/centers from around the web with the corresponding TEKS.  This resource will go here. I will also have my student's goal overview sheet in this section as a quick reference to match goals with centers, stations, and tasks. 

4. TEKS & STAAR

I will place my TEKS checklist & TEKS quick reference sheet here. I will also have pertinent STAAR info as well as acceptable modifications & accommodations. Each student will have a copy of their IEP overview placed here for quick reference. 

5. Procedures 

I will have procedures from the (district here fire drill procedures, nurse procedures, discipline procedures, etc.) I also have my PTR handbook! I also discussed this in my first year, beginning of the Year blog series. You can download your own copy from TpT Store.

6. Meeting Notes

I will be creating a template for my meeting notes, this will be placed here. 

7. To Do 

I used this idea from Clutter-Free Classroom.  She has the cutest sticky note to-do list! Download it, laminate it & put it in your teacher binder too! If you want to get crafty, you can follow this to-do list tutorial from The Cornflower Blue Studio and make one like I did!

8. Parent Communication 

I am placing my student's parent communication form here for a quick reference of communication between us.
